Congenital Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency (CSID) is a condition caused by a deficiency of ‘sugar splitting enzymes’, specifically Sucrase-Isomaltase. The condition results in the malabsorption of sucrose and a variety of symptoms such as bloating, diarrhea and abdominal discomfort.
