Dr Daksesh Patel, D.O

Dr. Patel completed his medical school at LECOM in Erie, Pennsylvania prior to his residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then went to complete his GI training at Ascension St John hospital in Michigan before finding his way to Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he completed his interventional GI training. He is currently employed by the GI Alliance, which is currently the largest private practice group in America comprising over 800 physicians and he serves as the Section Chief of Gastroenterology at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois and the Medical Director of the Lincoln Park Endoscopy Center in Chicago, Illinois as well as the Chairman of the Ascension GI Joint Operating Committee of Illinois. He is also an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is truly passionate about functional GI disorders. He is a published author on congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency and is currently completing a multicenter clinical trial on congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency through the GI Health Foundation.

Dr Tanaz Danilifar, MD

Tanaz Farzan Danialifar, MD is Clinical Assistant Professor of Paediatrics, Keck School of Medicine of USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Danialifar is a board-certified paediatric gastroenterologist with expertise in caring for infants, children, and young adults with a range of gastrointestinal disorders. Dr. Danialifar is the Associate Director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program and the associate editor for Continuing Medical Education for the Journal of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.

Claire Allen, MS, RDN, LDN

Claire M. Allen MS RDN LDN is a Chicago-based dietitian that specializes in dietary management of digestive and metabolic diseases and disorders. For over half a decade, she has served as the Lead Registered Dietitian at a private gastroenterology clinic in the Northern Chicago suburbs, where she developed a robust gastroenterology nutrition program as part of a multi-disciplinary care team. Claire holds a master’s degree in science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Michigan with concentrations in psychology and economics. Claire is actively involved in several academic groups through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, including Dietitians in Gluten and Gastrointestinal Disorders (DIGID), a subunit of the Medical Nutrition Therapy dietetic practice group, as well as Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine.

Tamara Duker Freuman, MS, RD, CDN

Tamara Duker Freuman, MS, RD, CDN, is a New York City-based registered dietitian with over a decade of experience in clinical gastroenterology practice settings, specializing in the dietary management of digestive symptoms and diseases. She holds a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from New York University and completed her undergraduate education at Duke University. She is currently employed at New York Gastroenterology Associates and serves on the Advisory board of OSHI Health, a virtual, multidisciplinary GI clinic.

Freuman is the author of “The Bloated Belly Whisperer” and a nationally known health writer whose advice is read by hundreds of thousands of people each month on U.S. News & Health Report’s eat + run blog and its syndicate, Yahoo! Health. Her advice has been featured in leading TV, print, radio/podcast and online media.

Freuman is also affiliated with a variety of professional and educational institutions. She is a clinical preceptor for the dietetic internship program at Teacher’s College, Columbia University and belongs to the Dietitians in Gluten and Gastrointestinal Disorders (DIGID) subunit of the Dietitians in Medical Nutrition Therapy practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, where she serves on the Functional GI Disorders Workgroup and the American Gastroenterological Association Task Force.

Dr Brooks Cash MD, AGAF, FACG, FACP, FASGE

Brooks D. Cash, MD is Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the University of Texas Health Science Centre at Houston, where he is also the Dan and Lillie Sterling Professor of Clinical Gastroenterology at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School and the Endowed Director of the Chao-Ertan Directorship at Memorial Hermann Hospital Texas Medical Centre. Dr. Cash received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Finance) with Honors from the University of Texas in Austin and earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He completed his internship, residency, and gastroenterology fellowship at the National Naval Medical Centre in Bethesda, MD, and served for 24 years in the United States Navy retiring at the rank of Navy Captain. Dr. Cash has authored over 250 articles and book chapters on a wide variety of gastrointestinal topics and his clinical interests include disorders of brain-gut interaction, acid-peptic disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, gut immunology and motility disturbances, colorectal cancer screening alternatives. He has been recognized as one of the best gastroenterologists in Houston by Houstonia magazine since 2019 and a Texas Monthly Super Doctor since 2020. He is a Rome Foundation Fellow and a member of the Rome V Functional Bowel Disorders Committee, as well as a senior Associate Editor for the American Journal of Gastroenterology. In October 2023 was selected for membership to the Board of Trustees of the American College of Gastroenterology.

Bethany Frazier, MS, RD, LDN

Bethany Frazier, MS, RD, LDN, is the owner of the private nutrition practice the Kansas City Dietitian Collective in Overland Park, Kansas, where she specializes in gut health and gastrointestinal disease. She is passionate about providing personalized nutrition to help her clients feel their best.

Bethany received her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Central Missouri and completed her dietetic internship and Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition from Bowling Green State University. She has been a featured speaker at the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Kansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics annual conferences. She is also a regular contributor for local television news and radio stations in Kansas City and across the state.
